Recap: Hartwick's
Tanner Reed (Unadilla, NY/Unatego Central) scored the game-winning goal just over five minutes into the game and she added an assist in the second half as Hartwick women's soccer defeated William Paterson 2-0 in the Erinn K. Brozman Memorial Cup Friday on Elmore Field.
Zoe Capanna (Los Angeles, CA/Palisades Charter) served a ball into the box from the left side of the WPU goal to Reed who collected it, made a move around a defender, and buried a near-post shot into the goal for a 1-0 lead at the 5:08 mark.
Alexa DuBois (Hobart, NY/South Kortright) also earned an assist on the play. Nearly 52 minutes later, Reed's pass found
Samantha Ford (Acton, MA/Acton Boxborough Regional) in the box. Ford's shot was knocked down by the WPU goalkeeper but she couldn't keep it out for a Hartwick insurance goal.
Dana Caputo (Commack, NY/Commack) nearly made it 3-0 later in the second half but her long-range effort struck the crossbar. The Hawks finished with a 13-11 advantage in shots. Goalkeeper
Cassandra Robataille (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) made six saves in the 'Wick goal to earn the clean sheet.
