Recap: Hartwick fell a goal short on Saturday as Stevens edged out the Hawks, 2-1, at Debaun Athletic Complex. The Ducks were awarded a penalty stroke at the 19:05 mark and Samantha Hessels would convert it for the 1-0 lead. 'Wick answered nine minutes later as Katie Meuse (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) redirected Perry Willett's (Huntington, VT/Mount Mansfield Union) shot from the point. It marked Meuse's fourth tally of the season. The half would end with both teams deadlocked at one-all. The hosts held a slight edge in shots, 10-8, and they had a 6-1 advantage in corners. Four minutes and one second into the second half, Stevens took the lead. Skylar Migliaccio found the net from Michaela Thompson. It was Magliaccio's fifth goal of the campaign. The goal ignited the Hawks as they would register the next 10 shots in the game. Allyson Quirk (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) had three shots saved by Stevens' keeper Emily Franco in the span. Meuse and Maggie Stauble (Kingston, NY/Kingston) also had shots on cage. Quirk had another shot forcing a defensive stop from Alyssa Appleby. The Ducks would hold the Hawks without a shot over the final nine and a half minutes to preserve the victory. Hartwick ended the contest with a 23-19 edge in shots. Allyson Osborne (Nottingham, PA/Solanco) finished the game with seven saves. Franco stopped 13 'Wick shots.
