ONEONTA, NY – The visiting Nazareth Golden Flyers took all nine matches on Saturday in a 9-0 Empire 8 Conference win over the Hartwick women's tennis team at Wilbert Park. With the setback, the Hawks slip to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in league play. Naz improves to 3-2 overall and stays unbeaten in the E8 at 3-0.
All five doubles matches ended in identical 8-3 scores.
Jessica Best (Niskayuna, NY/Colonie) played a close match in number four singles against Naz's Marissa Towers. She would fall by a final count of 7-5, 6-4.
McKenzie Rider (Salamanca, NY/Salamanca) dropped a 6-3, 7-5 match to Caroline Breitweiser in the fifth flight.
Hartwick is off for the next 10 days until it travels to Newburgh, NY to meet the Mount Saint Mary Knights. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
