The Hartwick women's swimming and diving team beat Alfred University by a score of 161-71. The record for the Hawks is now 4-4, whilst Alfred University falls to 2-5-1.
The Hawks started out strong with a win in the 200 medley relay with the team composed of Bree Dy, Jacqueline Drown, Scout Easton, and Meghan Gezcy. Abby Miller and Joelle Ocheltree swept the 1000 freestyle. Ocheltree and Gezcy also took 1-2 in the 200 freestyle. Dy took gold in the 100 back, followed by Elizabeth Baird. Paige Eaton won the 100 breaststroke, with Drown placing second. Miller and Easton swept the 200 fly. Eaton took second in the 50 free.
In the second half of the meet, the Hawks kept at it, with Gezcy winning the 100 freestyle, the first win of her college career. Dy and Baird went 1-2 in the 200 backstroke. Eaton won the 200 breaststroke, followed by Drown. Ocheltree and Baird battled it out in the 500 freestyle, taking both gold and silver. Miller won the 200 butterfly. Dy won the 200 IM, followed by Drown. Lastly, the 200 freestyle relay consisting of Baird, Eaton, Ocheltree and Miller came in first.
The Hawks are back at it in two weeks when they host Stevens in the Moyer Pool beginning at 1PM.
