ONEONTA, NY - In the final meet of the regular season, the Hartwick Women's swimming and diving team was defeated by the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks by a score of 85-159. This brings the Hawk's record to 4-5, and Stevens to 2-5.
The Hawks started the meet off with the 200 Medley Relay, coming in third with a team consisting of
Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ/Bishop George AHR),
Jacqueline Drown (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge),
Meghan Geczy (Queensbury, NY/Queensburg), and
Paige Eaton (East Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy). In the 1000 freestyle,
Joelle Ocheltree (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) came in first, followed by
Elizabeth Baird (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs), who swam 650 more yards after finishing second to complete the 1650.
Abby Miller (Oneonta, Ny/Oneonta) won the 200 freestyle. Dy grabbed the silver in the 100 backstroke. Drown came in third in the 100 breaststroke. Miller won the 200 butterfly as well.
In the second half of the meet, the Hawks continued to hold their own as Geczy won a bronze in the 100 freestyle. Dy also came in second in the 200 backstroke. Drown was second in the 200 Breaststroke, followed by Eaton. Ocheltree won the 500 freestyle, with Miller coming in third. Dy came in second in the 200 IM. The Hawks finished the meet with the 400 freestyle relay, coming in third with a team of Miller, Baird, Eaton, and Ocheltree.
Prior to the start of the competition, two senior women were recognized for Hartwick.

Natalie Harkonen were recognized and thanked for everything they have given to the swimming and diving program over their careers.
Abby Miller is a nursing major who swam two seasons with SUNY Oneonta before finishing her career here as a Hawk.
Natalie Harkonen is a bio-medical and art major from Michigan who spent all 4 years on Oyaron Hill.
Hartwick will compete next at the Allegheny Empire Championship February 16-19 at the Webster Aquatic Center in Webster, NY..
