Hawks’ Comeback Falls Short, Drop 2-1 Decision to SJF

ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hartwick posted a late comeback scoring in the 81st minute to cut the Cardinals' lead in half, but it wasn't enough and ultimately fell 2-1 in the Empire 8 matchup.

  • Hartwick out-shot the visiting Cardinals 13-4 in the first half, but it was St. John Fisher who ultimately cashed in, posting a tally in the 23rd minute to take the 1-0 lead.
  • St. John Fisher extended their lead to 2-0 after halftime in the 58th minute.
  • The Hawks got on the board with a tally in the early stages of the 81st minute as Jake Zona (Liverpool, N.Y.) ripped a one timer on a Joey Bertone (Jamesville, N.Y.) cross to cut the lead in half.
  • Unfortunately, time ran out on Hartwick and the score would remain 2-1 in favor of the visitors.
