UTICA, N.Y. – The Hawks wrapped up their final regular season conference schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 win against the Pioneers of Utica University.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks once again used their solid serve game, picking up 14 aces in the win.
- Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Me.) picked up six aces, while Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.) picked up three.
- Thornton was also third on the team with nine kills across the four sets, and set the pace for digs with 17.
- For the second day in a row, Colette Maloney (Williston Park, N.Y.) and Staecia Silofau (Kapolei, Hawaii) each posted double-doubles. Maloney tallied 15 kills and 14 digs, while Silofau picked up 10 kills and 13 digs.
- Hornick also picked up double digit digs with 11 to go along with her 36 assists.
- With the win over Utica, the Hawks have secured the second seed in the Empire 8 tournament. Hartwick receives a first round bye and will head straight to the Final Four which will be hosted by St. John Fisher on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5.
