ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Hawks did not score in the first quarter, but made up for it in the final three, scoring six times to defeat Empire 8 opponent, Elmira 6-0.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Jessica Betts (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) scored two goals within just under three minutes of each other to give the Hawks the 2-0 lead.
- The first Betts' tally was at the 15:51 mark, while the second was at the 18:46 mark and assisted by Julie Ruzzi (High Falls, N.Y.)
- Ruzzi, who has been responsible for creating opportunities for others lately, got a goal of her own in the 25th minute of play for the 3-0 lead.
- Hartwick would go on to score two goals in the 3rd quarter. The first was a penalty stroke goal by Sydney Gagnon (Chestertown, N.Y.) and the second was by Holly Calore (Rocky Point, N.Y.) in the 43rd minute.
- Porter Russ (Verona, N.Y.) rounded out the Hartwick scoring with her first collegiate goal in the 53rd minute of play.
- The Hawks would only surrender one corner and one shot the entire game, allowing keepers Madison Maddocks (Garrison, N.Y.) and Ashley Luppens (Wading River, N.Y.) to combine for the shutout.
