ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks dropped an Empire 8 contest on their home pitch on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 against the Medaille College Mavericks

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks and the Mavericks both put up seven shots on goal in the first half.
- However, it was the four that Hartwick put on goal that would ultimately lead to the first goal of the contest.
- Jim Mahony (Bournemouth, England) converted on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute of action for his fifth goal of the season to give the Hawks the 1-0 lead.
- Despite outshooting the Mavericks in the second half, it was Medaille who managed to find the back of the net.
- The visitors knotted the score up 1-1 in the 48th minute of action off of a rebound.
- Just over 10 minutes later, Medaille would convert on another rebound to take the 2-1 advantage.
- The Hawks would have a few opportunities down the stretch to find the equalizer, but could not get shots on goal.
- Unfortunately for Hartwick, the Mavericks put the contest out of reach in the 76th minute with a header off of a corner kick to make the score 3-1.
- Joey Bertone (Jamesville, N.Y.) got off four shots, three of which were on goal to lead the Hartwick attack.
