MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Hawks wrapped up their 2022 campaign with a 38-12 loss against Empire 8 foe, SUNY Morrisville on Saturday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The host Mustangs scored touchdowns on three of their first four drives in the first half.
- Hartwick was able to respond late in the 2nd quarter when Tyler Norman (Hyde Park, N.Y.) recovered a fumble on the Morrisville 14-yard line, returning it for a touchdown. Michael Lombardi (Wantagh, N.Y.) was credited with the forced fumble.
- Unfortunately, the Hawks could not ride that momentum into the second half as Morrisville scored two touchdowns in the third and converted a field goal mid-way through the fourth to take a 38-6 lead.
- Hartwick put together one final push offensively as Kyle Szokoli (Greenlawn, N.Y.) hooked up with Logan Mullane (Goshen, N.Y.) for a 33-yard touchdown with 27 seconds remaining in the contest.
- Szokoli ended the day going 25-33 for 207 yards with one touchdown.
- Senior, Justin LoBasso (Honesdale, Pa.) led all Hartwick receivers with 10 receptions for 82 yards.
- Defensively, the Hawks picked up solid performances from the secondary duo of Bryan Grimes (Albany, N.Y.) and Jake Ely (Fulton, N.Y.) who recorded nine and seven total tackles respectively.
