Women Close Out ’22 with Win at Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Hawks closed out the 2022 portion of their schedule with a non-conference road win against the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs, 59-55.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks came out of a back and forth first quarter with a 21-18 lead.
  • However, the Mustangs flipped the script with a three-point scoring advantage in the second, knotting the score at 31-all entering halftime.
  • The two squads continued to trade baskets through the first part of the third quarter until Hartwick went on a 14-point run late in the frame to jump out to a 49-36 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the quarter.
  • Morrisville made a handful of runs in the fourth, getting within four points three times, and two points with 22 seconds remaining.
  • Sareena DiCerbo (Schenectady, N.Y.) put the game away, nailing two free-throws with 19 seconds left to secure the non-conference win.
  • Three Hawks scored in double figures.  Morgan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) led the way with 11, while Alexis Mark (Patterson, N.Y.) and DiCerbo finished with 10 each.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks will return to the court after the new year with a non-conference contest at SUNY-Delhi on Tuesday, January 3 at 6 PM before resuming Empire 8 play on January 6.
