Hawks Dominate Delhi in First Outing of 2023

DELHI, N.Y. – The Hawks held the host SUNY Delhi Broncos to just 12.5% shooting on their way to a dominant 77-16 victory in their first contest of 2023.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks locked down defensively to start the contest, holding the Broncos to just two points in the first quarter.
  • Up 18-2, Hartwick continued to put pressure on SUNY Delhi, picking up 10 total points off of Bronco turnovers.
  • The Hawks also put away 11 second-chance points and 20 points in the paint on their way to a 26-point lead at halftime.
  • The second half saw Hartwick to continue to dominate defensively and on the glass, holding the Broncos to just four points in the final 20 minutes of play.
  • Across the four quarters, the Hawks caused 28 turnovers and pulled down 51 rebounds.
  • Offensively, Hartwick was led by Alexis Mark (Patterson, N.Y.) who put away 21 points.
  • Morgan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) and Caitie Unger (Warwick, N.Y.) also scored in double figures with 16 and 13 points respectively.
  • Meghan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) led the Hawks in rebounds with 11.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks resume Empire 8 play on Friday and Saturday with a pair of road contests against Alfred and Elmira.  Friday's contest begins at 5:30 PM, while Saturday's tip-off is scheduled for 2 PM.
