Balanced Attack Spark Hawks to E8 Win over Keuka

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks opened their Empire 8 slate with a 64-47 win over Keuka College on Friday night.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Hartwick scored one more three-pointer and put away three more free-throws than the Wolves in the opening quarter to take the early lead 16-10.
  • The Hawks continued to extend their lead in the 2nd quarter behind two big three-pointers from Angelina Maselli (Burlington, Conn.) to take a 32-23 into the break.
  • Keuka responded in the 3rd quarter, shooting 42% from the field while holding the Hawks to just 29%.
  • However, the Hawks retained their lead heading into the final ten minutes of play.
  • Hartwick flipped the script on the Wolves, locking down defensively, holding the visitors to just eight points while putting up 17 of their own.
  • Maselli led the Hawks with a career-high 15 points.  Isabella Astorino (Warwick, N.Y.) and Sareena DiCerbo (Schenectady, N.Y.) also finished in double figures with 12 and 10 respectively.
  • Collectively, the Hawks picked up 27 points off of 24 Keuka turnovers.
  • Hartwick also got a boost from their bench, who collectively scored 27 points.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks return home tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM to take on Utica University in another Empire 8 contest.
