ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Hawks fell behind early and could not bounce back, falling in their Empire 8 opener to Nazareth.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Golden Flyers picked up a goal in the 26th minute by Cuneyt Vardar to take the 1-0 lead.
- Hartwick looked for the equalizer, putting three shots on goal, but were denied each time.
- The Hawks gave it everything they had in the second half according to Coach Scott. And it was evident, as the squad got off 12 shots, four of which were on goal.
- Unfortunately, Nazareth found the back of the net right at the beginning of the 63rd minutes before the Hawks were able to strike.
- Hartwick cut the lead in half in the 78th minute of play with a goal from junior, Nik Heasley (Hudson Falls, N.Y.). Assisting on the goal, was Tyler Muir (Poughquag, N.Y.).
- However, that is all the Hawks would get, suffering the 2-1 loss.
