ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks split the final day of their home tournament, falling in five sets to SUNY Morrisville, but bouncing back to sweep the Alfred State Pioneers 3-0.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Hartwick vs Morrisville
- Despite dropping the first set, the Hawks rebounded to take the next two by identical scores of 25-22 over the Mustangs.
- Unfortunately, Morrisville flipped the script in the last two to take the 3-2 win.
- Staecia Silofau (Kapolei, Hawaii) picked up 11 kills across the five sets, while Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Me.) added 10.
Hartwick vs Alfred State
- The Hawks regrouped quickly after the first match loss to sweep the Pioneers in three sets.
- The reigning Empire 8 player of the week, Kaileigh Brandow (Manorville, N.Y.) set the tone for the offense in the second match, picking up 15 kills while only committing two attack errors.
- While no other Hawk put away double digit kills, Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.) orchestrated a balanced attack which saw Hartwick tally 41 total kills and post a .360 hitting percentage.
- Hornick notched 31 assists in the match.
- The Hartwick defensive presence at the net also set the tone as the team put away 10 total blocks.

Hartwick will play one more non-conference tune-up on Tuesday, September 20 for a 7 PM match against SUNY Cobleskill at home.
