ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks were forced to settle for a 0-0 in their home opener against the River Hawks from Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Jake Zona (Liverpool, N.Y.) nearly put the Hawks on the board early in the first half. Unfortunately, after beating his defender, he pushed his shot a bit right to hit the post.
- Rodrigo Fernandez (Leon, Mexico) blasted a shot from the top of the box in the 20th minute, but it flew just over the crossbar.
- The River Hawks responded a minute later, putting a shot on net, but starting keeper, Jackson Gilstrap (Bethlehem, Pa.) denied the shot.
- Hartwick and Susquehanna would continue to go back and forth for the remainder of the half.
- Knotted up at 0-0 going into the second half, the two squads played just over seven minutes before a lightning delay paused the contest.
- When the match resumed at 3 PM, both teams pushed the pace resulting in six shots for both teams, but neither squad was able to find the go-ahead tally.
- Gilstrap and Aden Razukewicz (Warwick, N.Y.) each played a half and together posted the shutout.
