ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks and the Mavericks went toe-to-toe throughout the entire contest, but Medaille outlasted the Hartwick pursuit to claim the 69-66 Empire 8 win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Hartwick was able to jump out to an early eight-point advantage five minutes into the first half.
- However, Medaille worked their way back, taking a two-point advantage with 11:40 remaining in the first half.
- From there, the game was a see-saw affair with neither team gaining more than a four-point lead.
- Hartwick would wind up with the one-point lead with the score 35-34 at the half.
- The Mavericks switched the momentum into their favor, taking a 10-point lead midway through the second half.
- Medaille would keep the lead until the 4:39 mark when Anthony Girard (Chestertown, N.Y.) buried a three to knot the score up at 61-61.
- Unfortunately, the Mavericks stayed one step ahead of the Hawks from there, taking a three-point lead with 14 seconds remaining.
- Hartwick looked to find the equalizer, but a Maverick got his fingers on a Sammuel Prosper (Milford, Mass.) three-point attempt and the shot fell short to give Medaille the 69-66 win.
- Cooper Francis (Lynbrook, N.Y.) led the Hawks with 19 points. Girard added 15, while Felasco chipped in 10.
- Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) posted eight points and pulled down 17 rebounds.
