Flyers Use Strong Third Quarter to Defeat Hartwick Women

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Hawks gave the Nazareth Golden Flyers a tough battle throughout the first half of play, but it was ultimately the host squad that came away with the victory.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • After multiple lead changes across the first two quarters, the Hawks entered halftime down 24-20.
  • Hartwick continued to stay within ten points of the Golden Flyers through the bulk of the third quarter.  However, a late run by Nazareth in the last 3+ minutes of the third put them up by 13 heading into the final ten minutes of play.
  • The Golden Flyers would hover around that 13-point lead for the remainder of the game, taking the win from the Hawks 57-46.
  • Morgan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) paced the Hartwick offense with 12 points, while Angelina Maselli (Burlington, Conn.) chipped in 11.

The Hawks start the second time through Empire 8 next weekend, starting with a road trip to Utica University to take on the Pioneers on Friday, January 27 at 5:30 PM.
