ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Swimming and Diving team fell by just 25 points in their final home meet of the 2022-2023 season against the Alfred State Pioneers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Hartwick started the meet by recognizing their two seniors, Scout Easton (Evergreen, Colo.) and Sam Lassen (Danbury, Conn.).
- To start competition, the 200-yard medley relay team of Bree Dy (Matawan, N.J.), Jacqueline Drown (Columbia, Mo.), Amanda Wilbur (Watkins Glen, N.Y.), and Meghan Geczy (Queensbury, N.Y.) finished second.
- Joelle Ocheltree (Libertyville, Ill.) took a commanding nine-second victory in the 1000-yard free and followed that up later in the meet with a seven-second win in the 500-yard free.
- After a quick break, Dy returned to the pool to claim second in the 100-yard back and after the first diving break, took second in the 200-yard back.
- Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.) opened her day of competition with a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. The first-year followed that up later in the meet with another first place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Wilbur ended her day as a triple-winner in her individual events, taking first in the 200-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly, and 200-yard individual medley.
- Unfortunately, the Hawks ended their meet narrowly missing a first-place finish in the 200-yard free relay by four-hundredths of a second.

The Hawks hit the road for their final test before the Allegheny-Empire Championships with a 1 PM meet on Saturday, January 28 at New Paltz.
