Hawks Can’t Withstand Alfred’s Second Half Push, Fall 93-80

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks matched the Saxons point-for-point for the majority of the first half behind double-figure performances by Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) with 13 and Sammuel Prosper (Milford, Mass.) with 11.
  • Hartwick entered the second half down five to the current second place team in the Empire 8 standings.
  • Alfred extended their lead to 14 points early in the second half, but the Hawks worked their way back to cut the Saxons' lead to just single digits with 14 minutes remaining in the contest.
  • For the next ten minutes, every time the Saxons looked to extend their lead beyond 10 points, Hartwick stayed hot on their heels.
  • However, the Saxons proved to be too much for the Hawks down the stretch, taking the Empire 8 contest 93-80.
  • Three Hawks ended the night in double figures with Connors leading the way with 26 points in his first collegiate game since 2021.
  • Prosper finished with 17 points, while Cooper Francis (Lynbrook, N.Y.) added 16, including a perfect 9 for 9 from the line.
