ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's Swimming and Diving team was defeated in their return to action by Springfield and Union on Saturday afternoon.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks were defeated 211-89 against Springfield, but stayed close to Union, only falling 164-132.
- Hartwick started their scoring early in the day in the 3-meter diving event where Jack Armstrong (Windham, N.H.) finished third behind two Springfield divers.
- In the 1-meter dive event, Armstrong rallied back to take a second-place finish.
- Hartwick put points on the board in their first swim event of the afternoon as the 200-yard medley relay team of Mikey Schultz (Binghampton, N.Y.), Sebastian Knowles (Plano, Tex.), Nick Tirrell (Turner, Me.), and Reid Sinkinson (Telford, Pa.) picked up a third-place finish.
- Brady Haraden (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) picked up another third-place finish for Hartwick in the 1000-yard free.
- The Hawks closed the game in the 200-yard butterfly as Schultz and Dawson Tupponce (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished second and third respectively.
- Sinkinson added more points with a third-place finish in the 100-yard free, while Schultz placed second in the 100-yard fly and third in the 200-yard IM.
- Hartwick wrapped up their scoring with a third-place finish in the 200-yard free relay. Sinkinson, Knowles, and Tupponce were joined by Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C) for the event.

Hartwick will travel to the University of Scranton next Saturday for another non-conference dual meet at 1 PM.
