Hartwick Women Fall to Elmira in E8 Contest

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Basketball fell on the road at Elmira college on Saturday afternoon 44-31 in Empire 8 competition.

  • Hartwick fought back from a first quarter deficit to take a one-point lead, 20-19 going into halftime.
  • Elmira was able to flip the script in the second half, outscoring the Hawks 13-8 to regain the lead 32-28 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
  • The Golden Eagles defense took over from there holding Hartwick to just 10% shooting from the field in the fourth quarter to claim the 44-31 win.
  • Bree Fargnoli (Binghamton, N.Y.) dropped 13 for the Hawks, while Isabella Astorino (Warwick, N.Y.) posted 8 points.
  • Morgan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) pulled down 10 of Hartwick's 37 rebounds for the game.
