Women's Swim and Dive Sweep Tri-Meet


Oneonta, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team were able to notch a first place finish in their Tri-Meet against The College of Saint Rose and SUNY Delhi.


 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Hartwick got their morning started with Marielle Rodriguez(Mamaroneck, N.Y.) scoring a 178.10 in one meter diving, 70 more than her opponent. Rodriguez capped the diving portion off with a score of 187.65 in three meter diving.

  • Starting the day off was Bree Dy(Matawan, N.J.), Min-Syun Chen(Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Amanda Wilbur(Watkins Glen, N.Y.) and Courtney Pierce(Fulton, N.Y.) as they were able to finish first in the 200 yard medley relay with a blistering time of 1:57.85. 

  • Cate Russo(San Pedro, Cal.) followed up with a first place finish of her own in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:30.25 with a best split of 31.24.

  • Ellie Baird(Wilton, N.Y.) took first place in the 200 yard freestyle with a finish of 2:05.92 as the Hawks grabbed three consecutive events to start the afternoon.

  • Chen added onto the early push by the Hawks with a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.88.

  • Pierce took the 200 yard breaststroke, finishing just .18 seconds in front of her teammate Chen with times of 2:36.18 and 2:36.36 respectively.

  • Russo grabbed first place in the 500 yard freestyle, completing the race with a time of 5:36.70.Chen capped her strong day off with a first place finish in the 200 yard IM in 2:25.83.

  • The women ended the day in style, Dy, Pierce, Baird and Russo completed the 400 yard freestyle in 3:55.11 time to earn first place and a victory for the squad.

  • Hartwick scored 75, The College of Saint Rose scored 61 and SUNY Delhi scored 4.


UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will return to Moyer Pool for a dual-meet with Nazareth on October 28th beginning at 1 PM.
