Hartwick squared up against Alfred and as the starting whistle blew, both teams tried setting the tone. Fouls were exchanged as the defenses were active early, the Hawks were awarded the first corner of the game.

Alfred generated a corner of their own and posted the first shot of the game as they missed high in the 31st minute.The Hawks posted their first shot in the 34th minute but the shot was stopped by the opponent keeper.

With the second half underway, the defenses exchanged turns stopping the offensive pushes and stalling the ball in the middle of the field.

The rain began to pick up as the Hawks posted the first shot of the half but the chance was saved in the 48th minute.

Possession was hard to control for a bit with both teams having to adjust with the incoming rain as throw ins were exchanged.

Alfred posted a dangerous attack and earned themselves a corner, a shot was generated from just outside the box that was saved by a diving Meghan Perry(Otego, N.Y.) in the 70th minute.

The opposition posted several more shots as they pressured Hartwick but the defense was able to stand tall and clear the ball.
