Hartwick Defeated In Home Tri-Meet

Oneonta, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team faced off in a home tri-meet against the University of Scranton and Stevens Institute of Technology.

 

 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Hartwick started the morning with Marielle Rodriguez (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) on the diving board as she outscored her opponent 196.7 to 149.95 and 173.8 in one meter diving to earn second out of six divers.

  • The opponents took the opening events but Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) gained some momentum for the Hawks as she tied for first place with a 1.11.28 finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Chen continued her rapid pace, taking first place in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:35.

  • Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) placed third in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing at 11:36.

  • Ellie Baird (Wilton, N.Y.) earned fifth place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.73.

  • Russo and Baird finished third and fourth in the 500 yard freestyle as the Hawks would unfortunately fall in a competitive meet, Scranton would win 215-76 and Stevens defeated Hartwick 172.5 to 100.5.

    UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

    The Hawks will look forward to the three day Ithaca Bomber Invitational beginning on December 1st.
