ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks worked their way back from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat the visiting Elmira College Soaring Eagles 80-73 on Friday night.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks led by three twice in the early minutes of the first half, but a hot shooting performance from behind the arc put Elmira ahead by 12 with just over seven minutes remaining in the opening half.
- However, Hartwick chipped away at the Soaring Eagles' lead, trailing by only three at the half.
- Kevin Felasco (Liverpool, N.Y.) went coast-to-coast for a layup and an and-one after picking off an Elmira pass to swing the momentum into Hartwick's favor at the 16:35 mark in the second half.
- Elmira briefly regained the lead, but Felasco drilled a three in the right corner to give the Hawks a two-point advantage with just over 15 minutes to go in the contest.
- Felasco would go on to score seven of Hartwick's next nine points to give the Hawks a 53-44 lead with 12:04 left to play.
- Daniel Oyediran (Madison, N.J.) would pick it up from there, hitting threes in back-to-back Hawk possessions to give Hartwick a 10-point advantage with eight minutes left.
- Elmira continued to push down the stretch, but Hartwick would stay in control to ultimately claim the 80-73 Empire 8 win.
- Felasco led all Hartwick scorers with 25, while Oyediran added 17 off the bench.
- Bobby Connors (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Francis Cooper (Lynbrook, N.Y.) each finished with double-doubles for the Hawks with Connors picking up 14 points and 10 boards, and Cooper picking up 13 points and 13 boards.
