WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks and the Saxons played nearly even throughout the first quarter of action with Alfred ending the quarter with just a four-point lead.
- However, Alfred locked down defensively in the second quarter, holding Hartwick to just one field goal to take a commanding 30-12 lead into halftime.
- Out of the break, Hartwick responded by outscoring the Saxons 17-14 in the third quarter and 19-15 in the fourth quarter.
- However, the late runs were not enough to overcome the early deficit as the Hawks fell 59-48.
- Sareena DiCerbo (Schenectady, N.Y.) posted 10 points across nearly 30 minutes of play, while Meghan Perry (Otego, N.Y.) pulled down 11 rebounds and contributed eight points in 23 minutes off the bench.
