OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Hawks used a four-goal second quarter to gain the momentum needed to pick up their first win of the 2023 campaign on the road at Oswego State, 12-6.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Shayne Kerrigan (Foxborough, Mass.) struck first for the Hawks just over a minute into the contest with an assist from Garrett Frost (Wading River, N.Y.).
- The Lakers would even the score at the 12:02 mark.
- Frost posted an unassisted tally at the 7:46 mark, but Oswego scored two more before the first quarter time expired to take the 3-2 lead.
- The Hawks reclaimed the momentum in the second quarter, posting four goals in the second while shutting out the Lakers.
- Up 6-3 headed into the third quarter, Tyler Nocito (Mahopac, N.Y.) lifted the Hawks once more at the 13:53 mark to take a 7-3 lead.
- Oswego responded just under a minute later, but Hartwick once again took over the momentum as Frost found the back of the net at the 9:34 mark, quickly followed by a strike from Colby Simonetti (Pittsford, N.Y.) 12 seconds later.
- The Hawks put more distance between themselves and the home squad with two more quick goals at the 13:59 mark and 13:27 mark in the fourth, both by Frost.
- The Lakers scored two of their own during the final quarter, but Pete Conley (Foxborough, Mass.) put the exclamation point on the win with a goal at the 2:48 mark to cap the 12-6 win.
- Frost led all scorers with four goals, while Kerrigan and Conley each added two.
- Kyle McKee (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned the win in net, recording 10 saves.

The Hawks head to Plattsburgh on Saturday, March 18 for their final non-conference test before opening Empire 8 play on March 25 at home.
