  • Sandwiched between those two goals however, was a Roo strike at the 10:48 mark.
  • Canton evened the score one minute after Vaccarelli's second tally and proceeded to score two additional goals to take a 4-2 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
  • The Hawks flipped the script at the end of the 1st and into the 2nd quarter, scoring four-straight before the Roos could get back on the board.
  • Ellie Masterpole (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Kierstin Aroksaar (Lynbrook, N.Y.) led the charge as each notched a goal and an assist during the scoring run.
  • Vaccarelli tacked on two more at the 7:50 and 5:30 marks in the 2nd.
  • Unfortunately, Canton stormed right back into the contest at the end of the first half, scoring three-straight to knot the score up at 8-8 at the break.
  • The Hawks and Roos traded goals in the 3rd quarter.  Scoring for the Hawks, was Elle Stringer (Rensselaer, N.Y.) with an assist from Vaccarelli.
  • Claudia Pollaro (Queensbury, N.Y.) broke the 9-9 tie with a free position goal 37 seconds into the 4th.
  • Emily Madigan (Syracuse, N.Y.) extended Hartwick's lead to two goals 28 seconds later.  Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.) picked up the assist.
  • SUNY Canton did not go down without a fight, cutting the Hawks' lead to one at the 12:59 mark.
  • Hartwick responded quickly on another goal from Masterpole, but Canton fired right back for another score of their own to keep the Hawks' lead at one tally.
  • Pollaro was able to get the lead back to two at the 9:48 mark, but the Roos responded once again.
  • For the remainder of the contest, the Hawks looked to extend their lead while the Roos looked to find the equalizer.
