Seven Hawks Tally Goals in 20-7 Win at ECSU

MANSFIELD, Conn. – Hartwick Women's Lacrosse wrapped up their non-conference road schedule with a dominant 20-7 win at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) on Saturday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks ripped off five straight to open the game.  Hanna Goodreau (North Reading, Mass.) notched the first and fourth of the run.
  • ECSU sandwiched goals around Clauda Pollaro's (Queensbury, N.Y.) 12th goal of the season at the 5:46 mark in the 1st.
  • Hartwick went on to score three more unanswered, once again led by a two-goal performance from Goodreau to close out the opening quarter.
  • Pollaro opened what would be a back-and-forth 2nd quarter between the Hawks and the Warriors with her second goal of the day at the 11:13 mark.
  • ECSU and Hartwick exchanged goals at the 10:33, 8:40, and 6:55 marks.
  • Kierstin Aroksaar (Lynbrook, N.Y.) turned the momentum back to the Hawks with just over six minutes remaining in the opening half, sparking another run to gain the running clock.
  • It was all Hartwick in the 3rd quarter, as they added to their goal total, picking up five more across the 15 minutes of play.
  • The Warriors picked up three goals in the 4th to make the final score 20-7.
  • Maddi Morrison (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) was a wall in the crease for the Hawks, denying 13 of the Warriors' 20 shots on goal.
  • Seven difference Hawks scored in the contest, led by Goodreau with five and Pollaro with four.
  • Kristen Vaccarelli (Dix Hills, N.Y.), Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.), and Aroksaar notched hat-tricks.
