WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The host Cardinals held a 2-0 lead over the Hawks for two-thirds of the opening quarter before the visitors could get on the board with a tally from Shayne Kerrigan (Foxborough, Mass.).
- However, St. John Fisher went on to score three unanswered between the end of the 1st quarter and the early part of the 2nd quarter to take a 5-1 lead.
- The Hawks notched two within 15 seconds of each other at the 5:16 and 5:01 marks in the 2nd, cutting the Fisher lead to just two goals.
- Unfortunately, the Cardinals struck twice before halftime to go up by four.
- Seth Bello (Holliston, Mass.) found the back of the net 37 seconds into the 3rd quarter off of a pass from Matthew Locasto (Floral Park, N.Y.) to cut into Fisher's lead again.
- Hartwick's momentum was almost immediately stifled with the Cardinals scoring two more.
- Whenever the Hawks looked to swing momentum back into their favor, the host squad was there to put a scoring streak together to shut down the visitors.
