ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks could not overcome a hot start from the visiting St. John Fisher University Cardinals, falling 17-4 in their regular season finale.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The visiting Cardinals came out quick against the Hawks, scoring five goals in the first five minutes of play.
- Fisher would go on to score four more unanswered before Hartwick would get on the board.
- Jessica Betts (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) ended the Cardinals streak with a free position goal with 4:26 remaining in the opening quarter.
- The Hawks kept Fisher off the board for the remaining of the 1st and four minutes into the 2nd quarter to regain their nine-goal lead.
- Kristen Vaccarelli (Dix Hills, N.Y.) responded a minute and a half later with her own free position strike to once again bring the Hawks within eight.
- However, St. John Fisher notched two goals within forty seconds of each other at the 4:32 mark and 3:53 mark to earn the running clock for the remainder of the first half.
- The Cardinals continued their dominance over the Hawks, notching four goals across the third period while shutting out the home squad.
- Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.) picked up her 24th goal of the season off of an assist from Claudia Pollaro (Queensbury, N.Y.) at the 13:41 mark in the 4th.
- Vaccarelli followed that up five minutes later with her 62nd goal of the season and 100th of her career.
- Fisher closed out the contest with a goal at the 5:23 mark.

The Hawks secured the #4 seed in the Empire 8 playoffs last weekend. The semifinal game will be on Wednesday, May 3 at St. John Fisher. A time will be announced when it becomes available.
