WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Hartwick rolled into the game on a four game win streak but were met by an undefeated conference opponent in Nazareth, the Hawks matched the Golden Flyers all game proving that they would pose a real threat to the oppositions perfect record.

  • The first twenty minutes were spent with both teams vying for possession, eight more minutes ticked away before the Hawks formed the first dangerous attack. Jake Daly (Baldwinsvillle, N.Y.) used his break away speed to get past a defender and put a shot on goal but would be stopped by the goalkeeper.

  • Building off the corner, Hartwick formed a serious attack and another shot was formed by the team. In a close game with the squad playing good defense, an uncharacteristic lapse from the Hawks would unfortunately cause them to let up a goal in the 32nd minute.

  • It was a stronger second half for the men as they held Nazareth to three shots compared to their five but none of them could find the back of the net. With time winding down and fresh legs coming for Hartwick, they began to pressure Nazareth with purpose, something that they have been hinting at all game. Unluckily, time was not on the Hawks side as they dropped their first conference match this season battling all the way to the final whistle.
