Hawks Split Springfield Tri-Meet

Springfield, Mass . – The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive team got back into action after a short break, competing in a tri-meet with Union and Springfield.

 

 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks opened up their day with the 200 yard medley relay, the grouping of Owen James (St.Lutz, Fla.), Hassan Abdelwahed (New Hartford, N.Y.), Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) and Sebastian Knowles (Plano, TX.) completing the race in one minute and 40 seconds.

  • Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.) finished second in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of ten minutes and 28 seconds.

  • James finished fourth in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58 seconds, Abdelwahed took first in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing in a minute flat.

  • Schultz took first in the 200 yard butterfly, completing in 1 minute and 54 seconds. He also finished first in the 200 IM and 100 yard butterfly with a time of one minute and 58 seconds and 51 seconds respectively.

  • Jack Armstrong (Windham, NH) set a new varsity record with 475.20 points on eleven dives in three meter diving.

  • The 200 yard freestyle relay would be completed by Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.), Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, NC) Knowles and Abdelwahed in a minute and 29 seconds.

  • The Hawks would defeat Union College 156-138 and fall to Springfield College 158-136.

 

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

Hartwick will return back home to face off against Alfred University for their final home meet this season at 1 PM on Saturday, January 20th.
