Women's Swim and Dive Defeated In Springfield Tri-Meet

Springfield,Mass . – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive team got back into action,having their first meet since early December competing in a tri-meet with Union and Springfield.

 

 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Hartwick began their afternoon with the 200 yard medley relay, Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ) Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Amanda Wilbur (Watkins Glen, N.Y.), and Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.) completing the race in one minute and 57 seconds earning third.

  • Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) finished second in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of eleven minutes and 34 seconds.

  • Ellie Baird (Wilton, N.Y.) finished the 200 yard freestyle in 33 seconds, Russo and Baird finished third and fourth in the 500 yard freestyle with respective times of five minutes and 40 seconds and five minutes and 42 seconds.

  • Chen took second place in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke in one minute and nine seconds and two minutes and thirty seconds. Min-Syun completed the 200 yard IM in two minutes and 22 seconds, earning first place.

  • Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) finished third in the 200 yard butterfly, completing in 38 seconds.

  • The team would end the day grabbing first place in the 200 yard freestyle relay, Meghan Geczy (Queensbury,NY), Pierce, Baird, and Russo clocking in at a blistering pace of one minute and 48 seconds.

  • The Hawks would be defeated in a tight matchup with Union College 134-130, they also fell to Springfield College 81-185.

 

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

Hartwick will return back home to face off against Alfred University for their final home meet this season at 1 PM on Saturday, January 20th.
