BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Hawks controlled nearly every aspect of the game on Saturday afternoon but were unable to finish, falling 1-0 to Brockport in E8 play.

THE BASICS

  • Final Score:  Hartwick 0, Brockport 1
  • Location:  Brockport, N.Y.
  • Records:  Hartwick (5-6 Overall, 3-2 Empire 8), Brockport (10-3 Overall, 5-0 Empire 8)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks controlled the action early, getting off seven shots across the first 15 minutes of action.
  • Hartwick carried that momentum into the 2nd, but it was the Golden Eagles who would get on the board first, capitalizing on their only shot on goal in the quarter to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Hawks had a few chances across the final thirty minutes of play including back-to-back shots in the 36th minute of play by Emily Holladay (Hancocks Bridge, N.J.)) and Hope Angioletti (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) but both were denied by Nazareth's keeper.
  • Hartwick made one final push late in the 4th, earning a penalty corner in the 56th minute of action.
  • Unfortunately, Kendal Woolley's (Blue Point, N.Y.) was also turned away by the Golden Flyers' goalie who ended her afternoon with 10 saves.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks return to the Rochester area next Saturday, playing the first of three Hartwick contests at St. John Fisher that day with a 12 PM start time against the Cardinals.
