ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Tennis program heads to their fourth straight Empire 8 Championship Tournament this weekend. The Hawks are making their third post season appearance as the #1 seed after going undefeated in conference play for the third-straight season.
As the top seed, the Hawks have earned the right to host the semifinal and final rounds which will be held on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19. In the case of inclement weather, the matches will be moved indoors at Tri City Fitness in Latham, N.Y.
After receiving a first round bye, Hartwick will host the winner of #5 St. John Fisher vs #4 Russell Sage who will play in the first round on Tuesday, October 15 at Utica University.
Also playing in the first round will be #6 SUNY Brockport at #3 Nazareth. This match will take place on Wednesday, October 16. The winner of the 3/6 match will take on #2 SUNY Geneseo in the second semifinal on Friday.

Friday, October 18 – Semifinals
- #1 Hartwick vs #4 Russell Sage / #5 St. John Fisher – 12 PM
- #2 SUNY Geneseo vs #3 Nazareth / #6 SUNY Brockport – 3 PM
Saturday, October 19 – Finals
- Winner of Semifinal 1 vs Winner of Semifinal 2 – 2 PM
