ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks continued to make a statement in conference play, making easy work of the visiting SUNY Poly Wildcats on Friday with a 3-0 win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The underdog Wildcats, came into Lambros Arena on Friday night and briefly put the Hawks on their heels taking advantage of Hartwick attack errors to take a 5-2 lead.
- Hartwick clawed their way back in to tie the contest 9-9 with a kill from Aaliyah Williams (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.).
- The Hawks and Wildcats went back and forth for the next few points until Mackenzie Cahan (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) completely swung the momentum back into Hartwick's favor with back-to-back aces.
- The home squad did not look back from there, going on to win the first set 25-17.
- Hartwick found their footing in the second set as Head Coach Janet Donovan began to rotate some fresh faces onto the floor.
- Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Me.) served the Hawks to six-straight points including two aces.
- Up 14-6, the ball found its way into the hands of Cahan who served her team to 10 unanswered points.
- Lucy Walker (Ithaca, N.Y.) put the exclamation point on the 25-7 second set win with a monster kill from the middle for the final tally.
- After posting 26 assists across the first two sets, setter Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.) handed the reigns over to Ellie Kalbach (Spring City, Pa.) in the third set.
- Kalbach orchestrated the offense picking up nine assists on the team's 10 kills in the set.
- All-in-all, nine Hawks recorded kills in the match, led by Shelby Swartz (Candor, N.Y.) with nine.
- Thornton chipped in seven, while Walker and Williams added six and five kills respectively to the attack.
- The Hawks served tough from the start, collecting 14 total aces in the match. Cahan led the way with four, while Thornton and Arianna Thompson (Hogansburg, N.Y.) collected three each.
