ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team continues to impress in the early season, picking up victories over SUNY Brockport and SUNY Oneonta at Moyer Pool.

The Hawks got their day started with Annabelle Lindsay (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) and Marielle Rodriguez (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) both putting up solid performances in one and three meter diving. Rodriguez placed second in three meter diving with a score of 197.15, Lindsay finished right behind her, scoring 193.80.

Rodriguez took second place in one meter diving as well, scoring 194.30. Lindsay tied for third place with an Oneonta Red Dragon as they both posted identical scores of 188.10.

The 200 medley relay marked the start of the afternoon as Bree Dy (Matawan, N.J.), Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.), Aubrey Vaile (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and Anna Bischoff (Oneonta, N.Y.)Â combined for a first place finish, clocking in at one minute and 53 seconds.

Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) was first to touch the wall in the 1000 yard freestyle event, beating out her opposition by nine seconds, with a finishing mark of eleven minutes and 42 seconds.

Pierce made it three events in a row for the Hawks, taking the 200 yard freestyle event with a time of 2:03.23, beating out a Golden Eagle by .7 seconds.

Pierce got the momentum back on the Hawks' side, beating out fellow teammate Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) by .17 seconds in the 100 yard breast as both Hawks flew through the event in one minute and ten seconds. Pierce's official time was 1:10.58 and Chen finished at 1.10.73.

Hartwick continued to keep up the pace as three Hawks took the top spots in the 200 yard butterfly with first year Savannah Evans (Livermore, Calif.) leading the way, touching the wall with a time of two minutes and 25 seconds. Dani DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) and Amanda Wilbur (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) finished closely behind Evans, DeCarlo clocked in at two minutes and 27 seconds, Wilbur finished at two minutes and 34 seconds.

Chen picked up the victory in the 200 yard breaststroke, clocking in at two minutes and 35 seconds.

Russo went two for two in her individual events by taking the 500 yard freestyle, finishing the event in five minutes and 41 seconds.Â

The Hawks ended their day with a third place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay but it would not be enough for Oneonta and Brockport as the Hawks picked up victories over both squads, defeating Oneonta 196.5 to 98.5 and Brockport 174-120.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will stay home to host Stevens and University of Scranton in a Tri-Meet on Saturday, November 16th. Diving events will take place at 9AM, followed by swimming events at 1PM.
