MADISON, N.J. – The Hawks clawed their way back into the contest after falling behind by 22 points. However, Hartwick was unable to complete the comeback, falling 88-82 against the FDU-Florham Devils.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks scored the opening two points on the night as Brian Bonin (Cicero, N.Y.) backed down his defender for a layup.
- However, a big three by the Devils 19 seconds later gave the home squad a lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest.
- The Devils poured it on during the first half, shooting nearly 60% from the field including 46.7% from behind the arc.
- FDU-Florham not only out-shot the Hawks, but they also locked up Hartwick's shooters, holding them to just 18% from deep.
- Down 17 entering the second half, the Hawks quickly cut the deficit to just seven in four minutes.
- The Devils tried to regain the dominance they showed in the first half, but every time they tried to make a run, the Hawks stayed right on their heels.
- The Hawks eventually whittled it down to three with 36 ticks remaining on the clock.
- Unfortunately, the Devils sealed the deal down the stretch, knocking down three free throws to ice the game.
- Joey Mclaurin (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) poured in 23 points for the Hawks to pace the offense.
- Bonin came one board shy of recording a double-double ending his night with 16 points and nine boards.
- Cosmo Hardinson (Larchmont, N.Y.) also finished in double digits for the Hawks, tacking on 12 points.
