ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive team faced off with Empire 8 foe Nazareth, earning their first conference victory by a score of 185-96.

Sebastian Gomez (Mineola, N.Y.), Daniel Chung (Roslyn, N.Y.), Owen James (St. Lutz, Fla.) and Sebastian Knowles (Plano, Tex.) got the Hawks rolling, taking the 200 meter medley relay with a finishing mark of one minute and 56 seconds.

Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.) was the first to hit the wall in the 800 meter freestyle, clocking in at nine minutes and twenty two seconds, finishing 24 seconds before the next swimmer.

The Hawks put on a strong performance in the 100 meter backstroke as Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C) placed first with a time of one minute and five seconds. Gomez followed closely, finishing at one minute and six seconds and James completed his race at one minute and ten seconds, taking third place.

Hassan Abdelwahed (New Hartford, N.Y.) turned in a stellar day, taking three individual events in favor of the Hawks. Abdelwahed was first to touch the wall in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke as well as the 200 IM.

Hartwick kept up the pressure as Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.) placed first in the 200 meter butterfly with a time of two minutes and twenty five seconds.

Gomez swung the momentum back into Hartwick's favor after Nazareth took the 100 meter freestyle with a 200 meter backstroke victory, timing in at two minutes and thirty seconds.

Drake and Rogers both collected their second individual event victories as Drake completed the 400 meter freestyle with a scorching time of four minutes and twenty seven seconds. Rogers breezed through the 100 meter butterfly, clocking in at one minute and one second.

The 400 meter freestyle relay marked the last event of the day, Rogers, Drake, Nezat and Abdelwahed combined for a finishing mark of three minutes and forty eight seconds, picking up the victory to end a stellar day for the Hawks.
