CASTLETON, Vt. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Basketball team dropped their opening game of the Spartan Classic hosted by Castleton against RPI on Friday night.
THE BASICS

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- RPI scored six-straight to open the contest before the Hawks could get on the board at the 6:09 mark in the 1st quarter.
- Despite the early deficit, the Hawks fought back behind a strong opening quarter from Emma Cohen (Utica, N.Y.) who scored seven of Hartwick's 10 points.
- The Engineers pulled away from the Hawks in the 2nd quarter, taking a 17-point lead into halftime.
- RPI continued to expand their lead throughout the 3rd quarter and into the early parts of the 4th quarter.
- However, Hartwick battled back down the stretch, outscoring the Engineers 22-11.
- Unfortunately, the deficit was too much to overcome for the Hawks as they ultimately fell by a score of 76-59.
- Cohen led all Hartwick scorers with 18 points, while shooting 50% from the field.
- Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points.
