FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive program wrapped up the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invite with a third place finish among six talented squads.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Hartwick looked to end the Blue Devil Invite on a high note, coming in at third place after two days of competition.The third day contained six events for the men, beginning with the 1650 yard freestyle.

• Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.) turned in a strong performance in the 1650 free to start the afternoon, posting a second place finish, clocking in at 16 minutes and 57 seconds.

• Following the 1650 freestyle, Sebastian Gomez (Mineola, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 200 yard breaststroke event, timing in at two minutes and four seconds as the Hawks attempted to move up the standings.

• Hassan Abdelwahed (New Hartford, N.Y) grabbed another second place finish for the squad, completing the 200 yard breaststroke in two minutes and eleven seconds.

• Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.) placed fourth in an action packed 200 yard butterfly as three swimmers finished within the same second. Rogers would be edged out by a Penn State-Behrend Swimmer by .33 seconds and a Brockport swimmer by .24 seconds.

• Drake, Rogers, Abdelwahed, and Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C.) wrapped up the Blue Devil Invite with a strong performance in the 400 yard freestyle relay, grabbing second place with a finishing mark of three minutes and fifteen seconds.

• Hartwick concluded the competition in third place with a score of 1351.5, SUNY Brockport finished in second place with a score of 1414.5 and Penn State-Behrend took the first place spot with a score of 2062.

The Hawks will return home to Moyer Pool for a dual meet against the Broncos of SUNY Delhi on Friday, December 6th at 4PM.
