WEBSTER, N.Y. – The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive team completed the Allegheny Empire Championship ranking amongst the top with 988 points, being crowned the Allegheny-Empire Champions and Empire 8 Champions.

The Hawks entered the final day of the Allegheny-Empire Championship sitting in first place and looked to clinch the conference crown. Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.) helped get Hartwick started by taking gold in the 1650 yard freestyle in a time of sixteen minutes and three seconds.

Hassan Abdelwahed (New Hartford, N.Y.) placed second in the 200 yard breaststroke, clocking in at two minutes and seven seconds, adding 21 points to their total. Abdelwahed finished first among Empire 8 swimmers, helping extend their Empire 8 lead.

Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y,.) continued his stellar season, taking gold in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of one minute and forty nine seconds.

Hartwick capped off the day with a fifth place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay with Abdelwahed, Schultz, Evan Nezat (Jacksonville, N.C) and Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.) finishing in three minutes and twelve seconds.

The Hawks were named the 2023-2024 Allegheny-Empire and Empire 8 Champions, leading all schools with 988 points.

Head Coach Dale Rothenberger was named the Allegheny-Empire Championship Men's Coach of the Meet.

Mikey Schultz was named the Allegheny-Empire Championship and Empire 8 Championship Swimmer of the Meet.

Jack Armstrong (Windham, NH) was named the Empire 8 Diver of the Meet.
