WEBSTER, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team completed the Allegheny-Empire Championship, taking home silver in the Empire 8 Championship and ranking fourth in the Allegheny-Empire Championship with 796 points.

Hartwick got their afternoon started on a high note with Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) taking gold in the 1650 yard freestyle, completing the race in eighteen minutes and seventeen seconds.

Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.) was first to hit the wall in the 200 yard breaststroke, clocking in at two minutes and twenty four seconds.

Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) trailed just behind Pierce in the 200 yard breaststroke, coming in at two minutes and twenty five seconds to give the Hawks 21 more points.

Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) placed third in the 200 yard butterfly with a finishing mark of two minutes and seventeen seconds.

Marielle Rodriguez (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) took bronze among Empire 8 divers in three meter diving with a score of 287.95.

The Hawks ended their day with a fourth place overall finish, second in the Empire 8 in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Pierce, Russo, Ellie Baird (Wilton, N.Y.) and Bree Dy (Matwan, N.J.) clocked in at three minutes and forty three seconds.

Hartwick ranked second in the Empire 8 Championships and fourth overall in the Allegheny-Empire Championships.
