ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Hawks fell to the Elmira College Soaring Eagles, 92-80 on Friday night in their first of two weekend Empire 8 road contests.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Despite out-rebounding and winning the points-in-the-paint battle, the Hawks were unable to overcome the Elmira College Soaring Eagles.
- The Hawks stayed with the Soaring Eagles throughout the first half, knotting the score up on two occasions.
- However, Elmira was able to build up a 10-point lead entering halftime.
- The Hawks overcame the deficit mid-way through the second half, getting within two behind free throws from Shae Barber (Wells Bridge, N.Y.) with eight and a half minutes to play.
- Unfortunately, the Soaring Eagles took off down the stretch to claim the conference win.
- Daniel Oyediran (Madison, N.J.) poured in a team-high 20 points to lead the offense.
- First year forwards, Henry Perkins (Albany, N.Y.) and Xymier Thomas (Binghamton, N.Y.) recorded double-doubles for the Hawks as each notched 16 points and pulled down 15 and 10 rebounds respectively.
