Hawks Dominant in Big E8 Road Win at Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Hawks picked up their fifth straight win on Friday night in a dominant way, defeating the Soaring Eagles 75-51 for a big Empire 8 victory.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Bree Fargnoli (Binghamton, N.Y.) started Hartwick's night with a three-pointer just under a minute into the contest to give the Hawks the early lead.
  • The visitors would not look back, holding their lead over Elmira from start to finish.
  • Hartwick led by seven at the end of the 1st quarter, but turned things up a notch in the 2nd quarter, building a 32-point lead entering halftime.
  • The Hawks stayed in control the rest of the way, shooting 59% from the field including a 67% performance from distance across the contest.
  • Isabella Astorino (Warwick, N.Y.) was dominant down low, scoring 12 of the team's 22 points in the paint.  Astorino also went 9 for 10 from the line to finish with 21 points.
  • Caitie Unger (Warwick, N.Y.) continued her hot streak, tallying 16 points with six of them coming from beyond the arc.
  • Fargnoli rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Hawks, posting 11 points.
