Hawks Suffer Setback on the Road vs Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Hawks struggled against a potent Golden Knights offense, falling 19-7 to the Golden Knights in their second road contest of the young season.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Garrett Frost (Wading River, N.Y.) put the Hawks on the board first at the 12:39 mark in the 1st quarter off of a pass from Shayne Kerrigan (Foxborough, Mass.) to take the 1-0 lead.
  • Unfortunately, the host Golden Knights went on to score six unanswered tallies across nine minutes in the 1st quarter to take a 6-1 lead.
  • Tyler Nocito (Mahopac, N.Y.) gave the Hawks a lift at the end of the quarter, finding the back of the net with eight seconds left.  Frost was credited with the assist.
  • Hartwick was able to stifle Clarkson's offense throughout the first half of the 2nd quarter, keeping the Golden Knights off of the scoreboard until the 7:27 mark.
  • Clarkson turned things up a notch from there, outscoring the Hawks 11-1 from the 7:27 mark in the 2nd quarter through the 2:25 mark of the 3rd quarter.
  • The Hawks fought back at the end of the quarter and into the fourth, but it was not enough in the end.
  • Frost finished the day scoring three of Hartwick's seven goals while also picking up an assist.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks head out on their second of three-straight road contests on Wednesday, traveling to Nashua, N.H. to take on Rivier University at 4 PM.
