Hartwick Outlasted by Raiders in 2nd Half, Fall 12-6

NASHUA, N.H. – After a tight first half, the Raiders outlasted the Hawks down the stretch to claim the 12-6 non-conference win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Rivier struck first in the contest, notching a goal just over two minutes into the game.
  • The Hawks were able to respond a little over two minutes later with Colby Simonetti (Pittsford, N.Y.) finding the back of the net in what would prove to be a back-and-forth affair between the two teams over the course of the first half.
  • As each squad looked to gain an advantage, the other would respond in kind and after the end of the first half, the score was knotted up at 4-4.
  • The Raiders put up three unanswered goals in the middle of the 3rd quarter to take the 7-4 lead.
  • However, Seth Bello (Holliston, Mass.) capitalized on a Rivier penalty to keep the Hawks within striking distance with 2:39 remaining in the 3rdShayne Kerrigan (Foxborough, Mass.) collected the assist.
  • Rivier responded again with 17 seconds left in the 3rd quarter and kept that momentum going into the 4th, collecting five goals over that span while holding the Hawks to one goal in the final 15 minutes of action.
  • Liam McManus (Skillman, N.J.) found the back of the nest twice for the Hawks.
  • Tyler Nocito (Mahopac, N.Y.) and Thomas Cortelli (Pearl River, N.Y.) also scored for the Hawks.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
Hartwick will head out on one final non-conference road trip, traveling to St. Davids, PA to square off with the Eastern University Eagles at 2 PM on Saturday, March 30.
