ST. DAVID'S, Pa. – The Hawks were unable to overcome Eastern's early lead despite a handful of scoring runs, falling in non-conference action 18-10.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Eagles scored first, but the Hawks responded quickly, capitalizing on an Eastern penalty to score the man-up equalizer.
- Garrett Frost (Wading River, N.Y.) found the back of the net for Hartwick off an assist from Seth Bello (Holliston, Mass.).
- Eastern would go on to score seven-straight goals from the 11:18 mark of the 1st quarter through the 8:34 mark of the 2nd.
- Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.) notched the first goal of three on the afternoon at the 7:52 mark to swing some of the momentum back to Hartwick.
- The Eagles would put one more away before the half, but the Hawks closed out the 2nd quarter with three straight tallies to cut Eastern's lead to just four heading into half time.
- Despite having to kill off a late 2nd quarter penalty, Hartwick came out strong in the 3rd, causing a turnover at midfield and eventually converting it into a man-down goal.
- Luke Ward (Attleboro, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season on the play off of a feed from Harrison Kirby (Lynbrook, N.Y.).
- Unfortunately, it was all Eastern for the remainder of the quarter, with the home squad rattling off five in a row to take an eight-goal lead.
- August broke up the Eagles' run with his third goal of the contest with 3:25 remaining in the 3rd.
- Eastern struck once more in the closing seconds of the 3rd to regain their eight-goal lead.
- Both teams would pick up three goals each in the 4th making the final score 18-10 in favor of Eastern.
- Spencer Hogaboom (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Ward ended their afternoon with two goals apiece.

The Hawks will now turn their attention to Empire 8 action. The squad opens up their conference slate at home on Wednesday, April 3 against Utica University at 4 PM.
